This book is in good plus condition with slight shelf wear, a gift inscription on the front endpaper, and bumped upper corners (the picture makes this issue look far worse than it is). The DJ, now protected in a poly cover, is in good shape with wear to front cover, minor edge wear, edge tears, and chipping. The interior text is bright and clean. ; This is a "Great Western Edition" by Grosset & Dunlap probably published in the late 1950's judging from the gift inscription on the front endpaper. The original publishing date for the story is 1906. The text describing the scene on the dustjacket reads, "Shots of desperate men echoed along the frontier, only to be met by the avenging fury of the Wind Of Death." ; Great Western Editions; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 274 pages

The red embossed text much less so. An owner's stamp is affixed to the front endpaper. ; According to Lewis, this book should be viewed as historical fiction, as some events described are recognizably true.
