The book is in good plus condition with unmarked pages and bright gold lettering on the front boards. The only obvious defects are three white marks / scuffs on the front board (near edges). ; This fabulous Atlas was used to instruct students on military history and strategy at places like West Point. The atlas appears to cover the significant Civil War campaigns including Nashville, Chancellorville, Gettysburg, Petersburg, Atlanta, and many more. ; Drawings; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 136 pages

This book is clean and in good plus condition with slight tanning to cloth board edges and a clean eighth inch nick at the top front spine edge. There is some foxing on front and back endpapers. The DJ, now protected in a poly cover, is in good shape with minor edge wear, edge tears, and chipping (most apparent at top of spine). ; "Placid is a collection of charming little tales of what happened to a Confederate family in North Carolina when their men marched aay to war leaving only wonem and slaves to care for a large plantation. The episodes are authentic, having been told to the author by her grandmother, who was a young lady when war broke out. " This Civil War history was inscribed to the Principal of the Oak Grove High School of Durham County North Carolina in April of 1961 and signed by her.
